Ghostess With the Mostess!

There’s something about the week before Halloween that is such a vibe. The weather is crisp, excitement is in the air and Halloween festivities are on the mind! This week, we’re coming at you with some of our favorite tips + tricks for a wicked Halloween celebration. If you’re hosting your Halloween haunt this year, be sure to read on!

1. Bone Appetit

Obviously, we have to start with the food! Whether it’s light snacks, or a full on spread, it’s an essential. One of the reasons we enjoy Halloween so much is because food is something you can get really creative with. We love a classic chip and dip combo as much as the next guy, but if you want to spice it up this year, try this Pumpkin Whipped Feta Dip with crusty bread. It’s easy and delicious! Another classic is the veggie board. Make yours festive by carving out a mini pumpkin, place it in the middle of your board, and throw some hummus, ranch dressing, or whatever veggie dip you like inside! This adds some color and a pumpkin pop to your food table. Hosting can be a lot, so call us if you need a graze board on the fly, or do it potluck style!

2. Ghostess With the Mostess

Channel all your spooky vibes by creating a Halloween tablescape! We always start by grabbing some pumpkins, tiered trays (cake plates work really well for this) and some of our fave vintage pieces we have around the shop. For us it’s street lanterns from the early 1900’s, but a cute vintage Halloween mug or cup to hold treats will do the trick. If you need a table runner, try intertwining some twinkle lights into black gauze. This creates a really muted lighting effect,  adds texture to the table and screams spooky. For candy holders, opt for something clear. The color of your sweets will pop on the table, acting as more of a display/ decor piece (we love a multifunctional moment!!). Fill in the rest of your empty space with your party food + tableware.

3. Shake your boo-tay!

Music can make or break the vibe. Curating the perfect mix between classic Halloween songs + moderns hits has proven to be the perfect recipe for our Halloween hosting. If you’re thinking “well, who has time for that!?” hop onto Spotify, search “halloween” and now the options are endless! Hundreds of Halloween inspired playlists (from old to new) right at your fingertips.
