A COVID-19 Love Story: Tips to personalize a proposal
So, I’m not one to brag but this week really deserves some love- pun definitely intended. We had 5 amazing proposals and they were all planned with such thoughtful consideration and loving touches. I was definitely impressed. Here are some highlights that you can adopt for your own proposal:
Pop the question and invite your family and friends to celebrate: whether they’re watching the action from a secret hiding spot or meeting up after the excitement, celebrating your brand-spanking-new engagement is always more exciting with your favorite people.
2. Photobomb! Our client dropped off photos of the happy couple in advance of their picnic- we laid them all over their table, pillows, rugs and even in lanterns- it was an explosion of memories! We can only imagine how touching it was to see all the happy smiles and remember the wonderful memories that accompany them- so sweet!!
3. Cue the music!! I was coming to clean up a proposal picnic late in the week- the sun had set, there was a dreamy mist that had come in and I heard the sweet, soft sound of acoustic guitars playing relaxing, beachy, Jack Johnson-esque music. I just figured, well, we’re at Sunset Cliffs, a random guitar-playing-sunset-aficionado is totally expected, until I realized that this was part of the proposal- our client had invited not only the musicians but also they’re closest family and friends (hello, tip #1!) It was MAGICAL! They made the most of this experience by bringing in ALL the senses- it was awesome.
4. Last, but not least- hire a photographer. You’ll never regret looking at gorgeous photos of one of the happiest and most momentous days of your life- I promise. And if you’re going through all the extra effort to make it special, why not capture it forever?
If these tips inspire you, tag us in your proposals and share your ideas- maybe they’ll go on to inspire someone else! Checkout our IG stories and Pinterest proposal board for more inspo on popping the question!
