Spooky Vibes, Check!! Pioneer Park
In the heart of Mission Hills, this park is built on top of a cemetery… yes, a cemetery!! Checkout gravestones from the 1800s, pop a bottle of wine (it’s legal here!) and soak up all that Halloween spirit! This city park offers some of the best shade trees in town and is a chill hangout spot.
Colorful Fall Leaves! Balboa Park
Is there anything more fall than the crunch of leaves beneath your feet!? Fall trees can be hard to come by in San Diego, but Balboa Park came through for us all! The best color-changers are Japanese Maples in the Japanese Friendship Garden! We love this spot for a scenic picnic and a nice stroll! For the fearless: hit the Haunted Trails afterwards! #falldatenightidea
Fuzzy Sweater Feels! Mission Beach Bonfire
It’s fall, the tourists have headed home + you can once again enjoy Mission Beach. Grab a cozy sweater and a s’mores kit (shameless self promotion) and head to the beach for a bonfire! We love this spot for family outings, or date night! Need a recommendation for a bonfire service? Checkout: Beach + Bay Bonfires Beach Fire Guy or San Diego Beach Fires
The Apple of our Eye!! Julian, CA
This city is serving fall vibes the entire season, without even trying! Start your day in Jess Martin Park, a grassy peaceful picnic spot, then walk into Downtown Julian! A day filled with apple picking, pie and local shopping is unbeat-apple. (Couldn’t resist!)
Swing Into Fall! La Jolla Secret Swings
Follow a winding path behind the Birch Aquarium to find a sweeping ocean views including La Jolla, the shores and the cliffs of Torrey Pines! This is one of the best spots in all of San Diego. There's plenty of shaded space to post-up for a little picnic before hitting the swing to capture that one of a kind instagram photo!
